In high-voltage electrical systems of hybrid vehicles as well as electric cars different electrical and electronic components such as connectors, distributor systems or separating points are installed.
The challenge: The components need to withstand extreme conditions in a reliable and safe manner, e.g. high voltage levels as well as thermal and mechanical loads. Therefore, we impose particular requirements on the components, especially concerning insulation, electromagnetic compatibility and tightness.

That is why Hirschmann Automotive collaborated with renowned OEMs on developing a pioneering system: the HIRSCHMANN Automotive PowerStar (HPS) family. It transmits high electric currents with a voltage up to 1,000 VDC throughout vehicles reliably.
Tasks of the High Voltage Applications in the Vehicle Electrical System
Our HPS connectors are used to connect all ancillary units such as air-conditioning compressors, tankless water heaters, converters as well as all on-board chargers available on the market.
The HPS distributors enable efficient power distribution for the expansion of in-vehicle high-voltage networks. The HPS In-Line Connector is a safe separating point that enables the flexible design of high-voltage electrical systems in the vehicle architecture.
